Kilronan Irish Draughts
Welcome to Kilronan Irish Draughts
Howdy! Kilronan Irish Draughts is a small Irish Draught breeding operation located in the northern tip of Virginia. We are approximately 15 minutes from Leesburg, 30 minutes from Dulles Airport, an hour from Washington, DC. We moved in late September 2005 and are still in the process of constructing the farm. Thanks to Don Robbins the main barn is up; however, we need to finalize the electricity and water, finish the wash stall, tack and feed rooms and concrete the aisle. Good friend and hay supplier, Roy Stiltner from Waterford, Virginia has put together a hay elevator for us, so we can load straw and hay in the loft. Wesley Loving (Loving Fences) from Hamilton, Virginia put up the exterior fencing and Larry is just about finished with the interior RAMM fencing of the separate paddock areas. Dave Gallahan of Dozier, LLC prepared our barn site pad and the riding ring, which is currently stocked with jumps, and in use, right now we have a bench for viewers but we hope to put up a pavilion in the future. The dressage letters will be coming soon.

We are very fortunate that when we started out we found some wonderful people in the Irish Draught Horse Society who took us under their wings and allowed us to learn from them - the Bridon Irish Draught folks. We owe a huge debt of thanks to Brandy and Brianne Sells for mentoring us in our our Irish Draught endeavor, we rarely take a step without consulting with them first, and consider ourselves part of their 'team'.  Also we would like to mention and thank Gillian Pemberton and Martin Deer who coach us and our horses.  Our success, our horses, our love of the breed is due in great part to the time and effort that Brianne, Brandy, Gillian, and Martin have and continue to put into teaching us how to do what needs to be done.  Thank you all for your time, guidance and support we could not do this with out you.

We truly believe the old English adage: that there is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man. We invite you to come visit us and let your soul be touched.

Best Regards,

Larry and Michelle Robbins
